All about electric toothbrushes

Over the years, electronic toothbrushes have steadily gained popularity. More and more people now prefer to use electronic toothbrushes than the manual ones. This is one of the reasons why there is a long line of electronic toothbrushes in different styles and prices. Many of today's electric toothbrushes are the products of new or modern technology, although some have retained the technology that was used when electric toothbrushes were first introduced to the public some 50 years ago. As a result of this mix-match of modern and original technology, choosing the best electric toothbrush has become quite a difficult thing to do.

Modern technology has allowed inventors to come up with new and exciting features for the electronic toothbrush. Also known as a "rotating toothbrush", the electric toothbrush makes use of electric power to make the brush head oscillate, or move back and forth. The earliest model of an electric toothbrush was created by Dr. Philippe-Guy Woog of Switzerland in 1954. It was called Broxodent. In the early part of the 1960s, the Automatic Toothbrush created quite a stir when it was introduced by General Electric in the United States. As the years went on, more designs and models came out and new features were incorporated into the electric toothbrush.

One of today's most popular brands for electric toothbrushes is the Braun electric toothbrush. Braun has a long list of designs for electric toothbrush. One of their most popular models is the Braun Oral-B Complete Rechargeable Toothbrush, which has a timer and two brushing modes (clean and soft) that effectively improves your teeth and gums' health. The brush head has angled crisscross bristles that make it more effective for cleaning the teeth and working on the gums. It is Braun's first sonic electric toothbrush.

Another well-known brand is the Sonicare electric toothbrush. A Sonicare electric toothbrush cleans your teeth in two different modes: the primary mode (that involves the scrubbing action of the bristles on your teeth's surface), and the secondary cleaning action (that pertains to a new technology involving vibratory motion that helps take away plaque even in the areas not reached by the brush's bristles).

Aside from electric toothbrushes, you can also take care of your dental health by using teeth whitening gels or undergoing a laser teeth whitening procedure. Some of the most popular brands for teeth whitening include Britesmile teeth whitening and Rembrandt teeth whitening. A popular method or system of teeth whitening, on the other hand, is the Opalescence teeth whitening system. There are a variety of teeth bleaching kits available in the market, if you prefer to do the procedure yourself.

Remember, a healthy set of teeth and gums does not only mean having a bright smile. Good dental hygiene involves over-all good health - not just for your teeth and gums, but for your whole being. However, getting an electric toothbrush is one of the ways that you can begin your journey to better dental and over-all health.
